A section of the Gowda Community – Vishwa Okkaligara Maha Vedike has urged the Karnataka film chamber of commerce to suggest change for the title ‘Dev….Son of Muddhe Gowda’ as it cajoles and creates wrong apprehensions. It has asked for immediate change in the title in a latter submitted to KFCC.

Reacting this move by the Vishwa Okkaligara Maha Vedike director of the film ‘Dev…son of Muddhe Gowda’ Indrajith Lankesh says he has not made a political satire or anywhere in the film belittled the Gowda community and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. There five friends of mine with ‘Muddhe Gowda’ as name. A villager by name Muddhe Gowda reaches a good position. That role is played by versatile Ananthnag. On the first meet with the media we have clearly mentioned that the film is not politically related. Even Ananthnag also said it has nothing to do with Karnataka politics. With all such statements in the media it is not right on the part of Vishwa Okkaligara Maha Vedike. There is nothing anyone in the society. I know ‘Muddhe’ Ragi ball is a staple food of our state. It has acquired national and international prominence. The best healthy food is also not attacked in the film said IL.

I am honored to screen the film to respected Deve Gowdaji. I would do it on 5th of April after censor certificate. Never in the film ‘Dev….Son of Muddhe Gowda’ I have insulted the community reiterate Indrajith Lankesh.
The issue of Diganth pant stripped in the advertisement has also answer in the film. He is an ad guy. He removes his pant for an under wear ad stated IL.

The title tangle is not new to Kannada cinema.
